   In particular, we draw your special attention to item 2. Below (A Special Request to You to Contact Libraries). We look forward to urgent action in this regard by you in the interest of Sindhyat and in the interests of spreading knowledge and remembrance of the roots and growth of our culture particularly amongst our youth. We appeal to each of you to give us your comments and feed back as soon as you possibly can.

   (Please click 'Projects' on the website, www.Sindhulogy.org, and click again on "Themes from Return of the Aryans" and the full list of themes will appear. Thence, click for the selected Theme). It will be our endeavor to submit more themes from Return of the Aryans on our website, from time to time, in view of the requests from so many of you. Also, as you are aware, Mr. Lal Krishin Advani, former Deputy Prime Minister of India and presently, the Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament, in his recent autobiography published in 2008, regards Return of the Aryans as as a unique contribution to historical literature and praises the book highly, as representing the shared identity, values and ethos of Sindhis everywhere, in all parts of the world.
   LK Advani's autobiography adds: 'Remember', Bhagwan Gidwani (author of Return of the Aryans) writes, 'Sindh is the land where our ancestors resided, where the ancient Sanatana Dharma was formed in 8,000 BCE, leading to the formation of the roots of Hinduism. It was on the banks of our rivers of Sindh-Sindhu and Saraswati-where the Vedas were composed, where the 'Om' mantra was first uttered. Sindh it was under whose guidance Bharat Varsha, and later Arya Varsha, was formed. Nor do I forget the inspiration of Latif Shah Bhitai, Sachal "Sarmast", Sami and other Sufi saints. We are the survivors and inheritors of that glorious heritage. And to contemplate its extinction for us is not only to rob ourselves alone, but more so, our children and their children to whom this legacy left to us by our ancestors, rightfully belongs. I would not like Sindhiyat to disappear from the land of Sindh for then it would be a barren desert-lifeless and soulless, just as Pakistan would like it to be.'
   Mr. Ram Jethmalani, M.P. formerly, India's Minister of Law & Justice has also consistently praised our effort to bring out more and more themes from the book on our website. You are certainly aware of the views of Late Shri K. R. Malkani who considered Return of the Aryans as a masterly contribution to historical literature of Sindh and felt that in the interest of Sindhyat, every Sindhi must see to it that his youngsters is given an opportunity to read this book to understand and appreciate the beauty and grandeur of Sindhu-Saraswati civilization and also of those great times of the birth and beginning of the roots of Hinduism and the establishment of the ideals of Sanatan Dharma based on equality, social justice and human dignity.
   2. A Special Request to You to Contact Libraries: Keeping in view the feed back and comments of many of you as also the views of Shri L. K Advani, Shri Ram Jethmalani and Late Shri K. R. Malkani, it is clear that book - Return of the Aryans- best portrays the heritage of the ancient Sindhu-Saraswati civilization and other associated civilizations of Bharat Varsha along with the dramatic story of the roots of Hinduism from 8,000 BCE in the shape of Sanatan Dharma and the origin of Aryans in Sindh and the rest of Bharat Varsha in 5,000 BCE. We are therefore keen that in the interests of keeping alive the knowledge of the roots of our civilization, you may kindly take immediate action to call upon your nearby local libraries to stock Return of the Aryans in English. It is not always easy for individual youngsters to afford the purchase of books. By encouraging Libraries to keep such books, you will be striking a blow for the knowledge of the roots and heritage of our culture not only for our times but for our third, fourth generation and beyond. Libraries get hefty discounts and grants for purchase of books and they largely welcome suggestions for stocking books though sometimes, they need to be reminded. So it is our hope that you will take this step with the Libraries near your area in the interests of spreading knowledge and remembrance of the roots and growth of our culture. Do kindly let us know of the libraries you have contacted and particularly the address/ contact details of those who do not yet stock the books and we shall be glad to supplement your effort to contact them. In making the reference to your local Library to stock the book, you may give them the following particulars: Title of the Book: Return of the Aryans. Language: English. Author: Bhagwan S. Gidwani Publisher: Penguin Books Ltd. India. ISBN Number: 0-14-024053-5 Main Themes in the Book:
  • Birth & Beginning of roots of Hinduism in 8,000 BCE;
  • Origin of Indian civilization at the dawn of prehistory prior to 8,000 BCE;
  • Origin of Aryans in Indian subcontinent in 5,000 BCE
Do kindly keep us informed of the action taken by you by Emailing to [email protected] to publish your feed-back and comments on the Guest Book on our website We realize that your time is precious but we hope that in the interests of keeping our youth - now and hereafter - informed, you will kindly help.
   3. "Return of the Aryans" to be published in SINDHI: It has been urged by many of you that as Return of the Aryans offers a glowing lamp-light to the glory and greatness of Sindhu culture, its heritage and legacy, the book should be presented in Sindhi version as well even though most Sindhis are well conversant with English. AIS appreciates this view as we are conscious also of the need to promote Sindhi language We have therefore finalized the project to translate Return of the Aryans in SINDHI in collaboration with Dr. Dur M Pathan, Founder of Gul Hayat Dokri - see link below to www.gulhayat.com The translation in Sindhi is being done by an eminent writer - Dr Anand K Panjwani - who is well known in the intellectual and academic circles in Pakistan, India and elsewhere. He is a medical professional in Karachi and yet has earned his reputation in literary sphere. Dr Panjwani manages Sindh Adabi Academy that has given 28 books in Sindhi, Urdu, English originals as well as translations. He is actively engaged in Saakhi Sangat Kitab Dost (Book Friends) with the object of encouraging reading, writing and other literary activities of the members as also to facilitate publication of their works. He has accomplished three major translations till date. Already, - Dr A K Panjwani has completed the INTRODUCTION by author Gidwani which appears in Return of the Aryans to presents a synopsis of book and the impulses and the inspiration that led to the author's research of this subject. Dr. Panjwani's translation of this introduction in Sindhi will soon be presented on our website at www.sindhulogy.org

   4. Exchange of Artist Program between US and India: AIS have been closely collaborating with The Lake Side Center for Arts and Culture (click on link below). The Center invites artists from around the world to work and live in the Southwestern Michigan area. Beginning in the mid 1980's, it started as a very informal affair. In 1984 the selection of American artists became a more structured process, and in 1987 the Center became the first organization to implement an international exchange with the USSR Artists Union. The Lakeside Center for the Arts was the first Soviet government sanctioned artist exchange of its kind. The program expanded to include artists from Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, India, China, Norway, the Republic of Georgia, Poland, France and Australia.

   Mr. Dial V. Gidwani, founding President of AIS, and John Wilson served as directors on the Mayor of Chicago's Tourism Board in 1990. Gidwani became interested in the Center and its programs, and in 1992 approached John Wilson to include Indian artists in the exchange program. AIS and Air Canada sponsored the trip to India, and Gidwani traveled with John. Two artists were selected from Ghadi in Delhi. The first two Indian artists, who worked in studios in Michigan in 1992, Latika Katt and Jagdeesh Chinthala, have gone on to be very successful in America. Unfortunately, the Indian side backed out from the reciprocal commitment to host American Artists, and therefore India was dropped from the program. Mr. Dial VGidwani has been been approached by Mr. Arnab Paul, of US-India Exchange of Arts and Culture center, New Delhi, to include upcoming Indian artists in Lakeside program. Arnab has agreed to sponsor John Wilson's trip to India, and has agreed to host American artists in exchange. Mr. Wilson is leaving for Delhi on January 23,2009. He will be meeting Hon. Minister for Culture Ambika Soni , Mr. Ram Jethmalani and promoters of Art and culture in Mumbai/Delhi/Kolkata. Economies ebb and flow. Historically, following the arts would lead the movers and shakers of industry, the people who have the money to add to world's economies. This can be seen happening as recently as the 1980's, when John founded the Chicago International Art Exposition in a Midwestern town of no artistic renown. Soon, all eyes were on Chicago's Navy Pier, which is now a center of the city's tourist activities, bringing hundreds of millions of dollars into the economy and has even caught the attention of foremost magazines and the rest of media. We shall welcome any suggestions and comments you might have in respect of this Program. Please Email us at [email protected]
